LoveVampires book review site
LoveVampires is a fantasy fiction book review website. The challenge of this design was getting a vampire fiction look and feel while avoiding obvious gothic horror clichés. The site was also structured to promote usability and enable users to easily navigate their way around this large site.

Norwich Web Designer
Okay, this is actually my old freelance portfolio from before Little Bird took flight. I still love the pug though (who can resist his little squashed up face and wheezy breathing?) so I’ve included it here. It’s also a good representation of work from my freelance career.

3D Flash animation
The static Envisage logo lent itself towards 3D since it appears to be made up of multiple images. I used Papervision to break apart the logo since 3D rendering enabled a much more realistic animation of the logo spinning apart than non-3D Flash animation techniques were capable of.

The Government Finance Profession
The Government Finance Profession (GFP) is a department of HM Treasury that is responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of strategies for improving management of financial resources across central government. They required a user friendly, cross browser compatible website that would allow them to interact with the 9,000 members of the Finance Profession spread throughout various locations and government departments in the UK while meeting accessibility standards (WCAG 2.0 AA.)
RSS feeds and email alerts update users as news articles, job vacancies or professional conferences are added to the site. A restricted Members Area encourages registered members to use the wide range of facilities available to them through the website.
The website holds a large range of resources for finance professionals which need to be regularly administered by the GFP team – so ease of use was a major driving factor in the development of the CMS system.
