Web design for small to medium sized businesses
Our websites can include a number of useful features such as forms which can be used for data capture, such as a contact or customer enquiries. We can also integrate a blog into the website, which is a great way to regularly communicate with your customers and engage a broader audience in your industry. RSS feeds and social bookmarking can be added to sites where content is regularly updates as well as a newsletter sign-up form that allows customers to subscribe for email communications. Newsletter emails can be created and sent using Little Bird’s email broadcast service.

Creative design
We create a visually unique look and feel for every site that we make – we do not use templates – and aim to deliver a creative solution that meets the business needs of our clients. After getting a sense of the kinds of website designs you're partial to, we'll create a series of mock-ups of a homepage and a typical subpage. We will then discuss and refine the design before coding the site.
For clients with their own in-house web development team Little Bird offers a design only service. We can create a series of wireframes and design mock-ups before passing the final designs over for your web team to develop.
Site assessment reports
Site assessment reports are ideal if you already have a website that doesn’t perform as well as expected. They are also useful if you are unsure of how disability discrimination regulations apply to your website and whether your site is compliant.
We evaluate your site for search engine performance, accessibility compliance, usability and user experience. We then suggest areas in which your site could be improved; these typically range from “quick fixes” to longer term technical solutions. You can either engage Little Bird to undertake the remedial work or use your own web development team to implement the changes as you prefer.
Digital media
Little Bird would rarely recommend building a business website entirely out of Flash (due to its lack of accessibility and search engine friendliness) but Flash is still a valuable tool on the web. Flash animations can add interest and sparkle to a site - it’s a great attention grabber and is particularly useful for demonstration purposes.
Flash Video is a practical communication tool that can add instant appeal to most sites. We offer both flash animation and video as part of our service offering, using the latest techniques (such as Papervision 3D) and ActionScript to make the web come to life.
Internet business consultancy
Little Bird undertakes web consultancy and is experienced in working within a PRINCE2 project management framework. We also offer IT Consultancy for small to mid-sized businesses through our partner, Norfolk IT Services.
Web development solutions
CMS
Want to update your own website? We offer a number of Content Management Systems (CMS) solutions. These allow users to edit content and preview it before publishing. The built-in WYSIWYG editor features include text formatting, insertion of uploaded images and hyperlink creation to other pages or external files and sites.
E-commerce
Want to sell online? We use various open source e-commerce platforms (Magento, OS Commerce and Zen Cart) and will pick the right one to match your business needs to power your online store. We don’t just set up your e-commerce platform we also design the user experience too – reducing the potential for abandoned shopping carts.
